It was an all day sit in very windy conditions,I haven't seen a deer all day until about 2:30 and bam there it is a breeding party. This doe comes out of a deep ravine behind me I couldn't believe deer would come down that, anyways here she comes right behind my tree and a monster 10 point and a big 8 right on her tail. The doe is coming 5 yards to my right so i get my gun pointed then at last minute she changed and came on my left so i switched arms and they were so close i couldn't even get them in the scope and then ran over a hill into a creek bottom and now im sick. That buck was the biggest i've ever seen while in the woods!!!Every year i get one chance at a nice buck i hope this wasn't it!!!!! NEED SOME PICK ME UP ADVICE FROM MY FELLOW TN HUNTERS THANKS

Don't feel sick. Be thankful for the opportunity. Now that you've seen them you have something to look forward to. You also learned a possible travel corridor coming from the ravine.

Hang in there - at least you know you have two nice deer to hunt. Some advice for next year - you may want to invest in some over under scope mounts, where you can use your stock peep sights on close range and scope for long range.

Hang in there and stay after um. It can happen just as quick as you described. And then your whole season will turn around. Good luck.

This^^ I have hunted a number of times this year, have trail cam pics of a decent buck out on my land and between that and Priest WMA I have not seen a good buck yet. Tons of small guys but that is it.

I've missed several big big bucks, and it's a sickening feeling. It's nice to know they are there and atleast you didn't wound one and have to worry about that. Stay after them and one will pop up. Be thankful you have the time to go and I'm sure you learned something from the experience, good luck !

BBK- I am in the same boat as you. Yesterday afternoon was hunting a clover plot on the edge of a large CRP field. Broomsage is 5' tall in areas. I was watching 3 does eating clover. They all look toward the north. I turn my head and I see a doe at 90 yards and closing. Wind shifted and she caught my scent. She turned and bolted. That was when I saw the big 9 pointer my dad saw during bow season. First shooter I have seen all year. He was 135-140 easy. That's why I hunt. Maybe he will come by again.

Its called hunting. I saw my first buck of the season Friday that I believe was a shooter. Saw him that morning but the shot was questionable so I held off. That afternoon took my climber and moved about 50 yards only to see and hear him run a doe about 30 yards from the ladder I was in that morning. Go figure.
