I'm puzzled...

I hunted all day Saturday and Sunday and this morning 9-28, and have yet to see the first deer from the stand. Sat.& Sun hunted the same stand but today I moved to the far end of the property, this is private land that consist of 612 acres of mainly woods with plots planted randomly throughout the property. Up until 9-16 I was getting between 25-40 pictures a day of all sorts of deer ranging from fawns to some nice bucks but now have all disapeered. I pulled my last two camera cards this morning and the same thing nothing since 9-16. I have five cameras up throughout the property which have been in place since first of august and unchecked until sunday pulled 3 sunday and last two today. I am so puzzled. Any you guys got an idea? Each card had about 6000 pics on them. I don't think they have been pressured because i hung my stands the same time i hung the cameras and haven't been back until saturday.

this is where i have two stands acorns are everywhere but no sign the deer are around. no poop, prints or anything. this property has oak trees all over it

Oaks are good, but unfortunately in your situation you may have too many. I would put boots on the ground and try to determine where the tree/trees they are feeding on are. unfortunately on 612 acres that may be tough.

Agree. Too many oaks...good for wildlife, tough for hunters.

They will eventually be where you are hunting but they will be eating the freshest dropped acorns at this time. And that can change daily. Makes it tough. I would look at hunting some travel corridors close to the oaks.

Two ponds around fields and a creek that splits pretty much straight down center.

Early season , im not sitting all day or even half the day. After a few hours , I would be creeping out looking for sign. If there is no sign of deer feeding etc.. I would find another location where there is.

I've seen a ton of deer feeding in fields from about 5pm to dusk. We have a decent crop around here to. Might wanna hunt one of the ponds that is around the field.

going in morning to hunt the field edge travel corridor around the pond maybe my luck will change. I haven't watched the fields much this year since we planted them, so hopefully thats where they are.Because fields do look good.
