I am going to be interested in what SCN has to say about this.
I am pretty sure he is going to say that a Red dot scope is ok as most states allow these since they really do not project a beam of light on the target like a laser or flashlight would do. . I really think it comes down to the spirit of the law rather than what the words really say.
But someone sure could make a effective argument that a battery powered red dot scope "could" be used to locate deer.
