Me and a friend are looking for a place to hunt in illinois or kentucky. Anyone have any advice on any land owners/outfitters that are reasonable? Thanks fellas!!

BigSatt can likely help. I have hunted both quite a bit and with Western KY only being half the distance to where I hunt in ILL, I think I will go back to that area for a lease vs the 10 hour drive to Pike co ILL.

If all else fails, the Shawnee National Forest in southern IL holds some huge deer if you know where to look.

IMB Outfitters. These folks treat the common Joe just like the PROs. They got ground in a lot of BIG BUCK states. If you go with them let me know and I give you the name of the guide to use.

Tad Ladd west ky whitetails

Did you hunt there this year? This is his first year to outfit Tad Ladd West KY Whitetails. Just curious. I will second that recommendation as I just hunted with him for early muzzeloader. He runs a first class operation and has some of the best land around. Lodging and food is top notch. Tad and his crew are some of the most down to earth guys you'll ever meet. He really knows his heard and put me in some prime locations. A couple of evening sits I had 30+ deer in the field I with shooter bucks in the mix. I missed a really good shooter last evening which still haunts me. I highly recommend trying him. Check his website out and read some of the testimonies of hunters that hunted this year.

Good deal. He is an awesome guy. He has some great history on that property for sure. I took in a little history about that particular piece of land and was impressed for sure. If they do their part in coming years, in which I have no reason to think otherwise, his property will be something super special.
