Is it me or are they moving the application period up again? I'm ready for some Illinois hunting!

2nd lottery (non-resident firearm) deadline has been June 30 for the last two years, possibly longer.

We just finished our entry on saturday, and it seems there is a left over drawing at the begining of August I believe is what I read. Maybe you are thinking of that? Either way, best of luck up there. I can't wait to put my eyes on some of those big corn fed whitetails!

From memory (which likely isn't 100%), up until about 3 years ago the NR archery lottery was early in May and June, but the 2nd lottery where NR could put in for the shotgun or muzzleloader seasons was much later. I think I remember a July into August application period. About three years ago they moved all of the NR applications for deer hunts into the June period.

Yall need to also look on the website. There are a couple of significant changes yall need to check out. 1 being no more over the counter archery doe tags. Don't know about shotgun and muzzle. Also, if youths are unsuccessful during the ys weekend they can use their tags and hunt the 1st 3 day gun season.

This has not passed yet. It is a proposal.

We shall see very soon if it passes or not.
