Buddy of mine just texted me few minutes ago from deer stand and said he could hear some sandhills....last Saturday waiting on daylight it was so calm I could hear snow geese way off.

WHOAH! Never seen them in Shelby County. I look forward to being able to hunt them in a more spread out range.

Grew up in the Bartlett area and had never heard any until college at TTU. Was like "what the heck is that"? As a wildlife guy was thoroughly intrigued with seeing them. Several years later, heard my first flock in Fayette County and was told that was a big deal by some birders. Cool sounds for sure.

I saw Sandhills last year for the first time. Finally heard some snows last night. Always wondered how long they will fly in the dark until they find somewhere to sit down.
