If Texas Tech Plays Him, It Says More About Their Ethics Than His

Sorry guys, this was supposed to go in the Sports forum. Can one of the mods please move it there?

Texas tech coach and staff have done nothing wrong, yet. Kid transferred to tech before got in trouble I believe. Once he got caught tech sent him to counseling for gambling. Now I guess tech could come out and say he wont play but I imagine that puts them in a tough legal spot.
Now the teams saying they wont play them, sounds good in theory. But if they are on the schedule they are under a contract to play that game. So they would have to forfeit the game.
It's F ed up thats for sure.

Nobody has a right to play, particularly if they've violated NCAA rules.

If they keep him on the roster, bench him.

He's also already played 4 years. Times up.
This solidifies that ncaa has ZERO authority over college sports.

SEC and BIG 10 will have their own conference and governing body within a year or two

He bet on Texas tech after transferring. I can't agree that their staff has done nothing wrong. YMMV

Did they know that? Ncaa just banned him this year I believe after an investigation is my understanding. Also dont think he bet on tech while there, he did at Indiana.

as long as you bet on your team to WIN, i don't see a problem. same reason i'm still angry over Pete Roses treatment over his bets on the Reds to win. if a coach/player says his team is gonna lose, well...they might be in a position to make that happen - miss a free throw, over-throw an open receiver, drop a fly ball ... "dollar signs got in my eyes coach, i couldn't see..."

So you think its ok to bet on his own team considering he has the "inside" info and could alter the outcome in a point spread and other prop bets within the game?
