I had a small 4 pointer come out of the thick stuff yesterday into the less thick stuff and he stood around for 35 minutes. He got to looking in the opposite direction which got me to looking as well. Eventually I could see antlers moving. A buck stepped out at 38 yards. Dark chocolate antlers with lots of mass all the way up from those 5.5" bases. 5 points on the left side and 3 on the right. A browtine on his right side and then nothing until a fork at the end of the beam but that browtine may have been the biggest I've seen...thick, heavy, and 11-12 inches long....a 130" 5.5 year old heavy buck. At one point he gave me a perfect quartering shot and I thought about it but I could see another set of antlers behind him. It turned out to be a much wider 8 pointer but without the mass maybe pushing 125". I watched them both disappear back into the thick stuff and they were gone. Sure wish I could have re-arranged the first buck's rack... if both of his sides could have looked like the left side and he'd have had the same size brows on both sides he'd have easily been a 150" deer. Oh well, the best is yet to come.
 
Mike, you may be getting a little too picky, it may not have scored as much as you would have like but if he was 5.5 then he was a shooter
