Identify this fish

Who can identify this fish? The picture was sent to me by a friend with no details. I'll try to get more info. I think it was caught in Kentucky Lake. I've looked on the TWRA fish picture page and haven't found a match yet.

Yeah that's a yellow perch...... for some reason I was thinking a sun perch (the ones about like a large brim) when the rest of you were saying perch......
 
Looks like a yellow perch to me.We have started catching quite a few on pickwick lake,some of them we catch in early spring are quite bigger than that one. Very good eatin!
 
Definitely a perch. Definitely not a walleye.

The one in the middle is a walleye. Just for reference. Not to brag. I mean it is a nice one and all. 4.5lbs. Anyway...... :D
 
Yellow perch was the best guess that I could make. However, I don't see a dorsal fin. But we'll go with yellow perch.
 
I got a little more info on the fish. It was 8 inches long and yes, there is a dorsal fin that just doesn't show in the pic. So yep, no doubt it's a yellow perch. Thanks for the help, guys.
 
from my northern fishing experience, I would say yellow perch, not a good thing because they will aggressively take over and push out other species

That's a 4 1/2 (month)old Yellow Perch that will score in the mid 140s if you release it and let it grow.
