The only one I ever shot in the neck got away. I shot him in the neck with a muzzleloader and knocked him down.The deer bawled and as I was trying to reload he got up and staggerd away.We had a good blood trail for about 100 yards then it dried up.The deer fully recoverd then my brother killed it on the last day of season. But keep looking the deer might be down just ahead of you!
 
Good to know he survived i hope mine does an maybe he will pop back out monday morning. We covered pretty much the whole property after the last blood drop but no luck

i think it equals slang for"shaking my head" not sure though.
no one would say that regarding a fellow hunter with a wounded deer. for they may be the next to loose one just for being a jerk , i dont think thats what whitetail freak ment.

^ this, at least I hope tn whitetail freak didn't mean it that way.
