While I was walking through an old growth section of forest near Yellowstone this September, I came across this 300 lb bear that was rolling logs. I took the photo while she was 45 yards out. After about 10 minutes, she started slowly walking towards me, not realizing I was there. I had an arrow knocked and was ready to fill my tag. I was waiting for the bear to turn for a shot. SHe kept walking directly at me and got within 20 feet. I figured she was about 3 steps from being in my lap! I decided to show myself and took one step to the left. That was all it took and she took off into the brush. I'll get her this year.
