When I was a kid, my dad had a small earth moving company. He put me in a scraper when I was 14. I ran scrapers, graders, front-end loaders, etc. My point is, I know exactly what you're talking about. There is something very satisfying about moving dirt with heavy equipment.

After finishing burning the pile, I told my brother that I knew how Napoleon felt when he had no more nations to conquer.
Then, he told me to put the bucket on it and dig the hole for the scrap metal etc.

I got a Takeuchi T12 Skid steer from a friend a while back. I used it 3 days straight. I could have used it another week and wouldn't have run out of uses or gotten bored.
I was a heavy equipment operator in the USMC. I miss running the fork lifts and bulldozers. The excavators, graders, and scrapers were fun but Id rather run something over with a dozer.

I wish we hadn't sold our bull dozer when we sold the logging business
