I have a solid black shinny rock. It is between the size of hickory nut and a walnut. It is very heavy. It would probably take 3 limestone rocks this size to weigh as much as this one.

I found it several years ago while arrow head hunting.

it still could be from outer space but just not valuable.. I have several of the same type rocks you described and if you break them open it looks like they have "gold" inside them.. I sold 3 of them to a dept. head at the University of Sewanee on ebay a few years ago.. he did confirm they were from space but just trash rocks... I know where a whole bunch of them are out in a field we used to farm...

I found this one in a farm field along Little River here in Townsend. Little River sometimes floods this field. It may have come out of the Smoky Mountains.

It's not as heavy as a piece of lead this size. I don't want to break it open to see what is inside.
