Today was perfect with full moon and BIG tides. Went to the MS marsh on the far west side in the Gheenoe... never fished there before.

Only caught 1 keeper trout, 2 slot reds, and one 30lb alligator gar in 5 hours. Still had a great time being on the water.

Now that kids are getting older I am finding more time to fish. Supposedly, October is THE month for inshore fishing down here.

Tried something different....

Halfshell fillets marinated in margarita mix, seasoned with cavenders and sauteed garlic, then sprinkled with parmesean and Romano cheese. Smoked on the egg for 20 min or so at 275 over hickory. Holy crap that was fine!
