Didn't fill well this morning told dad I would let him out at his spot then I was going to walk to the stand in the oak flat. Well as I walked and checked the wind it wasn't going to be right for were I planed to hunt.

So I change my mind and decide to sit on a bucket on the edge of the river.I sat this bucket in this particular spot were I could see a scrape line that they have had for years on the other side of the river.

After day lite, doe came in did her thang at the scrape and heck it wasn't 15 minutes here came a small buck came in worked the scrape and then he easied off. Bout an hour passed and I could see some movement coming to the scrape. I then noticed it was 2 bodies on the way to the scrape, then the 3rd buck.As they got closer one was desent, then all of a sudden a tail rack buck #4 comes in to the scrape, man what some brow tines I thought to my self. Then another buck. The buck with the long brows (the one I shot) started working the scrape, man this bout tord me plum up!!LOL

He eased up to do the licking branch thang and the 45 cal optima pro went off, broke him down and the bucks didn't run off they circled the buck showing the dominate posture hair ruffed up, mean walk, man what a show. I watched the larger of the 3 work the scrape then walk off.

Was't very wide, 14 1/2" spread, 4" bases, 8.1/2 in brow tines, 8. 1/2 G2s field dressed 153 lbs.

that buck has character, congrats. I would go nuts watching 5 bucks come and visit a scrape all in the same morning

I have a john boat handy, in case this happens. I have shot several bucks over the years on the other side of the river, we usually hunt that side of the river later in the season.
