I just leased a piece of property and want to plant a food plot this spring but I have no idea what to plant when is the best time I also want to know what to plant in late August so I can bring them in thru season so my question is what is the best product to plant this spring to attract deer this summer and what to plant in the fall if I plant a annual this spring to I disc it up for winter oats in the fall I only have about three acres in different areas to make a plot the rest of the land is mature hard woods its 150 acrea total

I recommend planting buckwheat for your summer plot and it will be like turning manure into your plot for fall improving soil texture and fertility. You can plant it now but planting dates are not that critical with buckwheat as long as it is after frost.

The oats will do great with some white clover and winter peas for fall planting or just daikon radishes which will leave your field plowed for spring. I know its just 3 acres but if i was going to see what i have in deer around me i would plant laredo soybeans this summer then disk whats left in the ground and plant my fall plot but thats just what i have had the best luck at. I know there are some on here that know more....
