A lot of folks know what I have been dealing with for the last couple of years. For a year and a half I haven't shot, hunted, fished or much else besides try to not die. I got the not dying part figured out with the help of amazing doctors and now I'm trying to get back to doing what I love.

Yesterday I got up the have to, loaded my favorite FX air rifle and headed to my favorite permission. When I got there I couldn't believe it, collared doves, pigeons and groundhogs everywhere I looked. I finished the trip with 5 collared doves, 2 pigeons and a groundhog. I could have gotten a lot more but I didn't take my air tank.

I paid the price in pain last night but don't care, I had so much fun, practiced walking on different surfaces and got some much needed exercise. I'm going back today.

Wow! Takes quite an air rifle to kill a ground hog!
Glad you're doing better.
Thanks. I have a $400 pcp that I have killed a bunch with out to 65 yards, this one was $1600 and if I changed barrels and caliber it would kill them at 200 yards. I can swap the barrel and slug probe, turn a dial on the side and it's a different caliber. A friend just shot one at 250 yards with a .54 caliber that blew a big hole all the way through the groundhog. These modern air rifles are monsters, 400 to 600 yard shots with the right setup.

Man that's great you were able to get back out! Don't underestimate those groundhogs, cooked slow in a Dutch oven with some fresh veggies and some DrPepper rivals some of the best roast beef you've ever had! 😉
I have been eating them since I was a kid. I'll admit sometimes I just don't want to fight it trying to skin it. I killed 2 today in under 5 seconds and they both did self burials, slid down their holes lol. It's OK I got 19 birds today and kept a dozen for the freezer.
