I shot my Cva Apex conversion some more the last few days, and I'm pleased with the results.
I posted before that I couldn't get a tight group. After looking into it, I found that I wasn't knurling my bullets enough to make much of a difference.
After changing the bullet diameter from ~.398 to ~.402, the groups really tightened up.
I got it sighted in at 1" high at 100 yards. Then I only had time to shoot two more shots at 200 and 300 yards.
200 was 1" low, and 300 was only 11" low.

I am very pleased with the amount of drop at 300 yards, and I'm only shooting 55gr of imr4198. I still have room to grow.
Then I can go sabotless and really get some speed!

Speed kills lol. Im guessing mine is running about 2300 witha 240g xtp pretty close to a 3030 but bigger/heavier bullet.hope to shoot it in the am.good luck

My .40 shooting a 195/200 gr bullet @ 2,960 fps does not shoot that flat.

I'm zeroed at 100, -4.3" @ 200, and -17.5" @ 300.

If I change to a 1" high setting at 100, I'm zeroed at 155yards, -2.4" at 200, and -14.6" at 300.

im like 28 inches low @ 2450 fps and 195 sighted dead on at 100

i know my numbers are good

wife killed one @ 224
i had dialed in 6.5 moa dead on (255 yds) which at 220 is like 4.17 inches high

the buck was at 260 when i ranged him and by the time she shot he moved to 224

she hit the spine hence 4.17 inches high

I haven't used a chrony and only fired one shot at 200 and 1 shot at 300, so I could be off. The 200 yard at 300 yard targets were at a downward angle which could/should affect bullet drop too.

I am using 55gr of imr 4198, 200gr SST bullet, and federal 209a primers.

I can say that I did a real world test and shot a doe at 180 yards without holding over at all, and it hit her right where I aimed.

I will post my results when I have time to perform more testing.

Based on the load info on Doug's, I'd guess you are somewhere around 2,400-2,500 fps. Plug that into a Ballistic Calculator (I use Shooter, but JBM is also good and it's free) with a 0.265 bc and a G1 drag coefficient and see if that matches up with YOUR data. Be certain to measure your scope height, elevation, temp, and humidity (Use 50%). It all matters.

Congratulations on the doe. Great shot.
