I knew 'breakdown' would happen eventually

Went hunting yesterday and took the Honda Foreman 450ES out. Rode about a mile down into the woods, and walked 300 yds to my stand. When I was leaving (no deer, BTW) I couldn't get it to start. After 20 minutes or so, I FINALLY got it to start and got it back to my truck. It went dead right in front of my truck. That was a blessing that it wasn't a mile down in the Hatchie River bottoms, but then I had to figure out how to get it up onto the bed of my pickup. I tried winching it up the ramp, but the angle was too steep. So I pushed the ATV in Neutral over to a hill about a 100 yds away, and backed my truck up to the hill. Then it was a lot easier to push the ATV into the back of the truck because I wasn't trying to go up the ramp.
I took it to my mechanic buddy who told me that the choke was stuck in the 'on' position, and that's why I was smelling gas and having trouble getting it to start. He didn't have the parts needed, so I guess I'll start the 'Great Honda Parts Quest' today.
Thank goodness I got it out of the woods...

I feel your pain. I just got a 23 yr old suzuki running and an air filter has been on order for 2+ weeks now. Supposed to be in tomorrow (Wednesday). I wrapped two old socks around the filter cage and adjusted the A/F accordingly the best I could for the time being.

I'm not a bike biggot and will ride with ANY brand, but for my personal ride I've always favored Harleys. Won't ride with HOG though and prefer my mixed brand Church group ride. However, I've never been to a Harlley dealer and asked for a part or accessorie no matter how obscure, they walk to the back and bring it to the counter.

some brands you need to keep any part ever made for them,honda & other name brand units will break 1 day,it happens,im proud to have a 4 wheeler cause i cant outwalk 1,probaly going back to public land only next year & it will see more use.take care of them & they may last forever,mike243

i have the same 4wheeler and my choke wont stay on. i have to hold it out by hand till it warms up

you can adjust the stop to hold it,adjust it at the pull handle,mike243
