Let's say you wanted to bow hunt a farm that was accessible to the public. Although it's open to the public, not many people hunt it because of it's remote location. The best area of this farm borders another property that is managed for guided trophy hunts. The owners of the managed property will not let you come onto the managed property to look for and/or retrieve an animal. However, they can obviously go onto the farm to retrieve an animal because the farm is open to public hunting. There is no fence separating the managed property and the farm, so deer can easily come and go as they please between the two properties. There are many deer trails going from one property to the other. You have some nice bucks on trail camera on the edge of the farm near the managed property.

Considering that you are hunting with a bow, and any deer you shoot might run to the managed property where you are not allowed to go, how close to the property line would you feel comfortable hunting?
 
I would take my chances around 100 yds. My deer typically die within that distance. Do you mind sharing some pics? I assume this is out west. :)

I would hunt the best spot, and if it is 1 foot off the property line... so be it. If you shoot one and they won't let you retrieve it... Hire a crop duster to dump corn over the entire property... then contact the proper authorities.
