I got my first rifle yesterday. It's a Winchester Model 94. Got a good deal on it and a bunch of ammo. I dated it back to 1955 so I think it could be worth much more than I paid. Can't wait to go shoot!

And the gun will not load a round into the chamber so I am getting my $$$ back.

What a disappointment.

If it was truely a good deal, it might be worth taking it to a gun smith. It might be an easy fix.
How much did you pay?

I got the gun and 4 boxes of ammo for $350. I may get a quote from a gunsmith and get the seller to pay for it. The gun is in really good condition and he has been the only owner.

The round gets pulled out of the magazine tube, then the "lifter" lifts the front end of the bullet up to the barrel when the lever is at full draw. Then I got to close the lever and it will make it almost half way and locks up. The bullet tip makes it into the barrel but the back half of the bullet is stuck down below the cartridge guide. The bototm lip on the casing has too big of a diameter to come up between the guides.

I don't see how it's supposed to work to be honest.

hmmm....cartridge problem?

Not real sure. I tried to load a different one and its doing the same thing. Now I have 2 bullets in the magazine and can not even get them out.

is there a round stuck in the barrel????

The rounds won't go in barrel. They get stuck in the action I guess? I am able to close the lever if I push the round back down to the magazine.

Have you tried to single feed it? Throw the lever open and feed a round in by hand and then close the lever or just sell it to me.

LOL! You really want this thing dont you? I have single fed some empty shells. They eject fine but it still wont pick up the next round.

I'm giving it to the seller tomorrow so he can take it to the gunsmith. We will see what the diagnosis is.

Let us know the outcome.

or me. LOL

I got it back. He had just the magazine "door" re-blued a while back and the guy who did it put one side of the cartridge guide in backwards. It cost the seller $38 to have it fixed and now it works great!
