Was at the community garden a couple days ago when I saw a fishing rod up against a tree. The Harpeth river is right next to the garden... I figured someone may have found it and left it by the tree. It's a 6' med Ugly Stik with a Zebco 33 spincast reel, and I even re-spooled it with some 8lb Cajun Red Cast.

Sent an email to the guy in charge of the garden (I am on the board) asking if he could forward the message to all the gardeners in case one of them left the rod there. If nobody claims it, I will very gladly keep it. :)

I am thinking it will be a perfect catfish rod for some of the channel cats around here.

Zebco 33 - my fav reel. Wish they still made them the same as they did 15 years ago
I much prefer open faced over spincasting reels but it is a very nice reel, and since I found it I can't complain.

Yes they are, glad to have 3 now, they are solid built rods

I was fly fishing in the Smith Fork last year and I snagged a very similar rod on the bottom. It was an Ugly Stik - the only difference was it had an open faced spinning reel attached. I pulled it in - and to my surprise, there was still a catfish attached to the line! I guess someone was fishing and the catfish had dragged his rod in, and then the fish towed that rod around until I caught him and set him loose.
