As usual our season started in September.
We saw the usual number of deer and it seems that, as of right now, the rut is going to hit at the same time as any "normal" year.

Just got back from the Paducah, Ky. area from our first week of bow hunting up North.

There is about a sixty mile stretch of I-24 that is absolutely GROSS with blood and carnage from deer/vehicle collisions.

One year I stopped counting at SIXTY dead deer. When we start seeing these kind of numbers we know chasing has really begun.

It has not begun yet.

But the numbers are beginning to pick up a little. My guess would be a peak about the 15th of November with lots of activity a few days before and after.

For this area of Tennessee, I am staying with November 20th.

Rubs and scrapes are increasing as is daylight small, young single buck sightings.

Better sight your guns/bows in!...again!

I'll update again next week.

Smacked a doe last night on my motorcycle. She ran off, I'm still recovering hopefully my sholder will be better before I can get in the woods with my smoke pole.
