I’ve waited 16 years for this post!

This morning my son took his first whitetail deer! He's had other opportunities to kill a doe or two, during youth hunts, but I always talked him out of it due to the landowners wishes. This morning this small buck came into the field following a trail that a doe and yearling had came down a little earlier. He asked if he could shoot it and I told him "If he stops and gives you a good broadside shoot you can!" It closed the distance from 300+ yards to around 130 yards pretty fast and was only about 30 yards from entering the wood line when he stopped perfectly! I never got the word "shoot" out of my mouth before I heard the crack of the rifle! The buck tried to run but only made it to the fields edge before expiring!

Congratulations son! That lifetime hunting licenses I bought for when you were born 16 years ago finally got punched this morning!
