Saturday morning I hit JPP around the middle of the lake to do some grocery shopping. I got this nice fat hybrid on a SUMKINA Bubble Belly swimbait in white. Also had one that felt like it was equally as big break me off. I was shocked, I haven't had a fish break off in a long time. I'm super careful as to not let that happen.

The fish moved out and I had to paddle almost 3 miles away to find another active group. Finished my limit of Hybrids on the same lure and headed home to prepare for my first attempt at fish tacos. The verdict - outstanding. I can't believe they came out so well on my first attempt. My wife loved them too. I think it was the special sauce I made up that really did the trick.

I also went out yesterday afternoon and found some smaller 15-17" fish but nothing big enough to want to fillet so I tossed them back.

All fish caught in 20-30' of water suspended anywhere from 7-15'. Water temps yesterday hit 59.

Very nice. I may try to hit Priest this Friday for some of that hybrid action.

They're still a little deep but I'd be willing to bet this weekend you'll start seeing them up shallower in the coves for a few weeks. This is usually happening in April but with the oddly warm Winter and very warm pre-Spring it's already in progress.

Nice fish. I Love hybrid fishin on priest!! Prolly try it soon myself. Holler hunter and I got into em one afternoon last year and it was such fast action for an hour I was almost to wore out to drive the boat back to the ramp! Lol no way in hell I'd be able to paddle back! Good job!
Hybrids make excellent fish tacos. Definitely my favorite way to prepare them. Mine don't usually look as professional as yours though! Lol

What kind of kayak do you have, I've been wanting to get one for fishing?
