That is correctIt's also only 5 years old, and probably in service for less than that. A lot of service left in that thing!

Yep we have the very same issue. My house has 0000000 shade which doesn't help at all.If you were close I might just buy it to.put up but that's a small unit . Mines is a 3.5 ton and struggles during real high temps . Guess me building on my house helped it not being large enough. Does good on heating just when temps stay in the 93+ ° it runs constantly .
One side where the big white oak presides shades some but it's mainly the carport and some of the living room . Had a big ash on the other side but those EAB took care of of it . It was over 75 years old . So I just had it and a big white pine both cut down .Yep we have the very same issue. My house has 0000000 shade which doesn't help at all.
The next best thing to help this problem is powered attic fans, shade trees don't just happen quick enough to help. Ck the attic mid day with a thermometer then decide if 1 might help you. Great price for this unit, 14 seer .Yep we have the very same issue. My house has 0000000 shade which doesn't help at all.
I had 1 large attic exhaust fan.. when the tornado-storm beat our roof to crap yrs go the company recommended ridge venting and did away with the fan. He claimed the fan would work against the ridge vents but I'm clueless on that one myself. The next best thing to help this problem is powered attic fans, shade trees don't just happen quick enough to help. I had thought about putting a fan at the gable end vent end on the west end of the house but my roof guy talked me out of it.I had 1 large attic exhaust fan.. when the tornado-storm beat our roof to crap yrs go the company recommended ridge venting and did away with the fan.
