I am trying to add some hunt locations to my Huntstand but have tried to use my phone for this app and I have a few hunt locations on it but want to add a few more, help!

Go to your list of hunting areas and at the bottom of the list will be a bar labeled, "manage hunt areas". Tap that bar and it'll show a map. At the top center of the map is a gray pin. When you tap it, it turns green and the "add hunt area" bar shows up at the bottom.

It's a little cumbersome really. I'm pretty sure it used to give you an option of adding a hunt area anytime you clicked on a property. Doesn't seem to be working like that right now.

Thanks Ski,I dont believe mine is working correctly!I agree,it used to work for me but has changed! Thanks again!

Why so? Did you run into an issue? I've never used OnX but not opposed to trying it or any of the others. Huntstand can be a little over complicated and lacks resolution, IMO. Maybe they all are. I don't know. Haven't used any others yet.
Huntstand just got to where it didn't work correctly and became more complicated. I'm not a tech savvy kind of person but OnX seems to be more user friendly and does what I need it to. That being said, I'm still learning OnX but liking it much better than Huntstand in a shorter amount of time.

I'm not a techy kind of guy either. I need mapping for dummies lol. Thank you for explaining. I think I'll give OnX a try.

I have used huntstand for years. I wouldn't call myself tech savvy. It has changed an it didn't get easier, but I have been able to figure it out. My issue is I had so much in there, I can't just ditch it. I do have OnX too. I think they ran some special and (I may have been drinking 😂) and bought it.

here is one think I noticed right away. it seemed more user friendly and while Huntstand has more map layers, OnX you can do a terrain overlay where you can see contour lines over the satellite and zoom in much closer. I like that and wish Huntstand would add it.
I'm better with Huntstand on a computer rather than my phone. Then I just sync my phone so it's updated with whatever I added.
This^^^ love adding stuff on the computer with the big screen then syncing it to my phone so I have it when I go out.

That would be worth it's weight in gold to me. That is my single biggest gripe about Huntstand. Resolution sucks as you zoom in and everything is blurry by the time it's close enough to see detail.
Yeah...might have to check that out

Its not horrible on the satellite so long as you have decent service, but alas we get into some remote areas when we hunt. That being said, I have not used OnX in the field so I don't know how well it does, but would assume it can't be any better due to service being provided by cell phone companies and not them.

I zoomed in at home, but yes to be able to have the contour lines over the satellite imagery and see how the topo lines run on an image that I can easily orient myself to was pretty cool.

I think you can open both on a computer at your house too.
