Hunting partner

I've thought about this for awhile before posting. I'm interested in finding one or two people who have the same hunting desire as myself to deer hunt with this year. I'm not "over the hill" by any means, but I am getting older and hunting by myself is probably not a good idea. I hunt public lands and have had some success. I also have a code of hunting ethics. I'm in the Knoxville area, but I'm willing to travel a little as well. If someone is looking for the same, please send me a PM.

I hunt alone now all the time and before quite often . I always tell my wife where I'll be though .

I do the same thing. She knows the nicknames for all my blinds and stands.

I always told my wife what stand I was in, now I text it to my daughter. Just so someone knows where I am if I have trouble.

My daughter and my son in law are the only ones who even care and know were I am.

I understand, but when you hunt these mountains, first by the time the got here, then by the time they find what part of the mountain your in, it could be fatal. Never just hunt on one part of the mountain, we are everywhere, and if we separate, we are in constant contact.

I don't hunt mountains anymore...knees won't let me plus I've got a couple other places to hunt .

Have you all got your locations turned on in your cell phones?
That's probably one of the best ways for folks to know where you are.

There's an App that family members can use to share one another's location all the time. It even shows how fast you're driving, and can alert them if you're in a crash.

Your best bet may be to lease a few acres with a couple or three like-minded friends, and/or join an existing hunting club. Personal safety can be one of the advantages of a hunting club.

Buddy of mine chases those beautiful Brookies far back in the mountains and carries an inReach mini with him, pretty cool device and I've seen him use it. Works great and on my list as I always hunt alone, well worth the price.
