Imlooking for a new one. Winter hunting, I was thinking maybey something from Artic Shield. :/
I guess if its not as cold ie muzzle loadiong season, you can always unzip it right?
What do yall use and why??

I'm sort of skinny, so I get cold really easy. I've tried all sorts of cold weather gear, but have found that good old fashioned wool works best to keep me warm.
I got some of that Columbia wool bib and jacket that is brown camoflauged. The deer don't see it, and it's quiet and warm.
Perfect for guys that get cold.

For my usual jacket later in the season I have a waterproof outer jacket with a zippered full down filled liner, and hood that I can add or take out when I need to.
I usually have the liner in my pack when walking, heat of the day, etc, and then dig out when on stand, or cooler weather.
Works great for me, 2 jackets in 1, and very light.
Fleece and or Wool for mid layers if really cold out. They can get heavy when wet.
My outer layer depends on temp, rain, & if I will be stalking much.

I wont buy a jacket now without gore tex in it to rain proof me. I wait until the end of the season or even off season when companies such as cabela's, bass-pro adn sportsmans guide start clearing them out. The last one i bought was a browning with great insulation, parka, gore tex and scent shield...which i dont even believe in...was regular 249 or more and i got mine for a little over 100 bucks!

I wore the Cabela's brand jacket and pants last year with some Irish Setter brand insulated boots and a wool hat/face mask...Jan 1st was 17 degrees and icy/snowy and I sat in my treestand for 4 1/2 hours and never got cold.

Got a Browning 4-in-1 jacket. Been using it since 2000-01 along with the bib's that go with it. I have a down liner and a fleece liner. I'll wear the fleece liner by itself on cool mornings and as it gets colder, just zip-in a different liner depending on the temperature. I did pay a little for it, but I've been using it for the past 10 years, so I think it's been a good investment.

I have the browning jacket and layer up and use my bib overall. I look like the kid off of that t-giving moving where the kid where he shoots his eye out.
