hunting in the rain

I'm hunting this evening and its a coming down.
Am I wasting my time or what.

I wouldn't say you're wasting your time depending on what the radar shows. Last night I climbed in the stand with it thundering and lightening. When all that died down it turned into a pretty good night. I saw two does and two bucks.

Not at all deer will move as soon as it quits or lightens up. If I can sit threw it I'll get in a stand and hunt every time. Now when it is 40 degrees and raining I'm out.

What do you fellers do about trying to blood trail a deer in the rain? Hope for the best ? Seems the rain would wash it away.

I won't shoot a deer further than 30 in the rain. I'm confident that I can make a good shot in that range 99% of the time.

I've never killed one in the rain. But would think the blood washes away quickly. Has anyone noticed this ?

You definitely have to limit your archery shots to high percentage shots. My standing rule for bow hunting in the rain is sub 20 yard shots, 100% broadside.

How are the blood trails in the rain ?

Opening day here is Saturday. Suppose to rain but be a perfect wind for my setup. Shots won't be over 15 yards

the very reason i avoid bow hunting in a hard rain.
