Seems like the reference to "decoy" is becoming increasingly common with these events. As a kid I remember safety tips like not wearing red, white or blue clothing/hankerchief. Never shooting at movement or sound alone. Verbally call out to another hunter if they approach your setup.

But shooting at what is a 100% accurate likeness of a tom turkey? This isn't the last time this will happen in the spring woods. As well, I think hunting with rifles is legal in FLn outcome could have been much worse.

This happened on a WMA here last year, a guy was killed. It's a horrible situation but this stuff happening is one of many reasons I will not use turkey decoys.

Especially these days with people popping 75+ yard shots at a turkey with TSS, no freakin way you'd find me anywhere near a male turkey decoy.
