Hunt with Laptop From a Climber??

You sales guys that are hunters ever done it before? I hunt with my laptop out of my shooting houses all the time. Even take calls and close business. What about a laptop from a Summit Viper for those urgent emails lol.

I don't want to be that busy where I have to answer work stuff while trying to enjoy the woods. Now if it was a morning before work I understand or even right after work that day cause i as a customer like prompt service but on my off days NOPE.

I would suggest an iPad or similar before a full keyboard laptop.

Can't do quotes and certain important functions from phone or iPad. It has to be on the good ole Lenovo Thinkpad.

Primarily it will be a before work thing where something might be urgent about 8:30 AM when I'm not ready to come down yet.

I get busted on my phone when I'm deer hunting cause I lose focus on the woods and get lost in my thoughts. Many times I've been playing on my phone either reading tndeer or texting and see movement in front of me and notice a deer and I didn't hear it at all cause I was lost in my phone.

I used to have my laptop with me on my boat all the time in FL. Tarpon season doesn't wait for business. Not sure I would carry into a climber though.

Before the days of laptops, I did a lot of homework on paper from the stand. In fact, the morning I wrote my college admission essay from a climber, I shot a doe then a 4 ptr with my bow in a white oak grove. Finished my essay, then got down and retrieved both my deer.

Now that I'm old, I don't take work to the stand. The deer woods is just time for me to relax, reflect, and recharge my batteries for the insanity of the real world

Agree. Much easier to slip a phone in a pocket quickly than it would be to have to slip a laptop into a backpack.

I've never taken a laptop to the woods but have done plenty of work from my phone. I rarely hunt during the week but will not take a call if I'm in the tree. That's what voicemail is for. I catch up from the laptop at lunch if needed and then once the afternoon hunt is over. I have taken the laptop on the lake before.

That's what I'm saying. I think a lot of folks think you're trying to work while deer hunting. But no you're trying to deer hunt while working.

I would say that hunting while you are working is a lot better than working while you are hunting!

There's always that chance to get busted but I'd go for it and not worry about it. Keep it in a backpack til it's time to work on it then put it right back up after. Doing that will be better than sitting in the recliner doing it and wishing you were hunting.

For you folks suggesting I use my phone, I have to run quotes on a specific platform that requires the laptop. Mornings get real busy about 8:00 am. Won't be doing the laptop from the stand again
