Food Plots Hungry deer!

So how do you guys keep the deer out of your plots until they establish?
I only have (2) plots, (1) is 1/2 acre the other is pushing 3/4 acre.....
I am blessed with deer.... I have around 30 acres but it is joined by a 700 acre tree farm (pines)
so when i plant it's like ringing the dinner bell.... :bash:

If money is no object go with an electric fence. Otherwise, try the Plotsaver kit. I've had success with it.

Electric fence works great.Give yourself plenty of room to mow and spray around it.I built a large one for my chestnut trees,works great.

I was thinking ahead for fall.... i want to try an keep em out till things get established.... they usually destroy the plots early on

What are you normally planting? I've never had much of an issue with deer wiping out a plot in the fall. The weather will knock it back but it will usually recover in the spring.

yeah it always comes back in the spring but i want to hunt over it in Muzzleloader and its usually picked clean by then..... the best thing I've planted that will somewhat stay up with them is wheat.... I've planted all types of brassicas, peas, radish etc.
although last year with the drought my plot died around the first week of October, i still hunted over the "dirt plot" during the rut and killed the biggest buck I've ever killed.... so i guess it all works out in the end.....

This is how I set up my electric fence. It's very effective. I used plotsaver for two years effectively, but by the third year the deer seemed "educated".
