Can't find my dang scale. But I got home from work early today and hit the fields on the farm. I have to work tomorrow, which sucks, but at least I had a nice Friday evening. That's a 25 ounce can on her head. Biggest doe of the season for sure. Deer #7 Williamson co private land

Ruger American .308 Hornady American Whitetail 150gr soft tip. Maybe around 100 yards or so. Drilled her, ran a very short distance.

I killed a button head that dressed 115 pounds . wish we had known to look at the teeth for age reference but it was years ago.

Any ideas why she was so much larger? Seems all yearling deer I see are relatively the same size, regardless of buck or doe.

genetics is my guess, there are some really large deer in Williamson county. Also good soil which makes for better nutrition. Although she wasn't fat, just big

Did the same thing a few years ago on Preist this time of year. One deer, by itself, 30 min to sundown. Ended up being a button. Wasnt as big as your yours but I was kicking myself.

You surely must have some of the northern genetics still dominating in your area because i remember that other huge doe you shot a year or so ago. From a meat perspective those does are as good or better than a lot of bucks. Congratulations!

I've shot some big ones in Maury as well but most of my biggest were Williamson co

I shot one in Williamson a few years ago and she was massive like that. I see a lot of big doe in the Leipers/Carters Creek area. Good farm land for them down there.
