HS Precision Stock Question

I have a couple HS stocks, they are great stocks. I would not pay the $340, there are usually several floating around on eBay or one of the other forums.

I have a HS Precision on my Remington 30-06 and it really made a difference not only in the grps but in the point of aim.
That old wood stock just wasn't holding a constant point of aim over time so i changed it.
If I was getting good grps and nothing else was changing, that 340 would be a hard sell for me.

I've watched several go between $200 and $250 in various styles and contours on ebay. This is the one I see the most of on there.

Bad part about trying to find a Remington take off HS stock is going to be the barrel channel size. Most (if not all) are going to have a Varmint barrel channel, which will swallow your sporter barrel whole.

When you say the 270 is a shooter, what kind of groups are you getting out of it? The Hogue should be pillar bedded and a little bedding around the recoil lug will go a long ways on helping any accuracy issues you think you might be having.

Before I spent $250 on a new stock, I'd spend $25 on some JB Weld and sand paper and bed the recoil lug and make sure my barrel is fully floated. Just my opinion though...

Bell and Carlson make a stock with an aluminum bedding block as well. They're usually a little cheaper than a HS.

Is your gun a factory detachable magazine gun or was it converted?

I have one on a custom Remington 700, I bought mine from Stockys. I really like it. I have a B&C metalist on a model 7 and it is nice also.

HS makes stocks that fit sporter barrels.
