I don't know much about these things, so I'll post a pic. Said it's marked down from 600 to 154.00...at Walmart

Thanks for sharing, been contemplating a new one to check trail cams with and store photos on. I'll check it out.

Better hurry. Our store had 3 when I posted that an hour ago. Took me 15 mins to get there. I got the last one. Was going to get a couple, to pass on...if someone wanted one. No luck.

The "experts" panned the laptop even tho it has good performance.

The high-res is of little use because it sucks the life out of the battery.

A laptop can never be as good as a desktop until batteries never need charging and heat is instantly turned into cold.

Its a very very good deal.

Full specs per HP but it appears the Walmart model also has a Intel Optane drive in it. Those will speed up disc access a lot. The CPU is 4 physical cores and 4 logical cores so Windows sees it as a 8 core CPU. The hard drive is a NVME M.2 which is quite a bit faster than standard SATA interface. The Optane drive is also NVME. It acts like a huge cache for the main hard drive.

I only see one negative. The screen resolution is poor so it wont display HDR or UHD content. I think you could attach it to a HDR/UHD external monitor if you wanted. Then it should play back full HDR/UHD videos. HP specs says it has 1 8gig memory stick...Add another....they are pretty cheap and super easy to install in most laptops. Using just 1 stick its impossible for the memory to run in dual channel mode.

Is 589 around here. Seems like a heck of a deal

I checked brickseek for stores around here. Only 2 stores had for 154.00...and both are out of stock.

The 3-cell battery makes it a device that won't last long away from an electrical outlet.

However, there may be an upgrade on the after-market and that would be a good investment.

I still think this is a good buy.

I checked the sku for my area stores too. That is a very good deal. Both places that had them cheap were sold out. I would have bought one at that price even though i dont need it atm. Its a great bang for the buck and the CPU itself is no dog. Its pretty good actually. The newer style interface for the hardrive is also a big plus. I think you can buy an additional 8gig sodimm for about $30-35. It literally takes a couple minutes to install them.

Use a piece of software called CPUZ from CPUID. When you run the software it will tell you the exact brand and kind of memory. Then you just google the Part# for the best price. Amazon often has real Samsung HP modules cheap.
