How to stop mosquitos during deer hunting

I have tried sprays for just my clothing and tried using OFF with deet on my skin and my clothing. This pass weekend the mosquitos were down right crazy. I have over 30 bites. Does anyone have any ideas on how to keep them from biting. I was thinking 2 shirts but with the heat don't think that's smart. Thought about a thick button down shirt also anyone use them and feel they work better. Also thought about a full bug net thats green. I am hunting from trees so do think the deer will see me. I know just wait til the weather cools down but I just have to be in the wood for mental relaxation and the possibility of getting me a deer. I even had my thermacell running the whole time. I did see deer all three days missed one on Saturday. Thoughts?
 
Thermacell only works OK for me, still have a few that aren't affected, and that is with no wind and the thermacell between my feet while I sit on my boat fishing at night.

You might try beefing up the Thermacell pads on your on if the others aren't stopping them. Mine has always worked in the past.

Thermacell has always been a life saver for us. It is amazing that it does not keep skeeters away from others.

no they don't really, I usually never carry a thermacell or anything, I just put up with the few that do bother me. I can stand next to a friend of mine while fishing and he gets torn up while I only get a couple of skeeters.

+1 for thermacell. I was in the woods a few weeks ago and they were eating me alive until I turned it on. I could sit still on a log and not have a single one bother me once it warmed up.

This has been my experience the few times I have used one turkey hunting. Never took one in the woods during deer season.

If a therma cell don't work you need a new pad or you got a bad pad.
Also make sure it's actually on also.
Just clicking the button don't mean it's on.
It has to be glowing when you look in the little window on top.
No offense but I know a guy that didn't know that the first couple times he carried it until someone posted this info on here.

I've never had a unit that didn't keep the mosquitos at bay. If you're running it and don't think it's working turn it off for 15-20 minutes. You'll see.
 
New pad, new butane, and it was on (red glow) this past spring at Chickasaw NWR. You'd thought I had mosquito attractant on. With that said, Shelby Forest WMA and Chicksaw NWR, both in MS River Bottoms, are the worst places I've ever been for mosquitoes.

Comparing mosquitoes in hill country to river bottom mosquitoes is like comparing apples to oranges. At least that's been my experience.
 
I've used mine in the Shelby Forest bottoms where the mosquitos were so thick you had to shake them off your barrel before you could see to shoot and they still worked for me. Maybe it has something to do with your blood type and how apt you are to being bitten???

Was in Chickasaw on Squirrel opener... you are not joking about how thick they are. My hands would get covered up when stopping to listen.

That's crazy I've never heard anyone say it didn't work. I guess the combination of permethrin and Thermacell I have never had a problem
Heck mine worked in the Georgia swamps of ft Stewart

No doubt. I had permethrin on my clothes and face mask, 40% deet on my skin and face mask, and one thermacell running. It got so bad at one point, I just started laughing, when in reality, I was about to explode with anger and fury. I was completely miserable. There were several mosquitoes big enough to require a license plate on their azz. :)
 
After 5 minutes in the stand, my wife and I were getting eaten alive. Broke out the thermacell, and 5 minutes later, no more mosquitos. Works for us every time.
