How to remove paint from a gun?

Go to Wal-Mart and get you several cans of the Winchester brand Powder Blast or Gun Blast..... I can't remember the name for sure, it replaced the Birchwood Casey brand stuff. It will melt the paint right off and not hurt the bluing....

I don't want to hijack someone's thread, but this brings up a question from me. What is the best way to get some paint off a gunstock? I have a shotgun that has a streak of paint on it where it rubbed up to something and I have not tried to remove it for fear of hurting the finish. Thanks

Do you know what kind of paint it is? Water based latex or oil based?
