First let me say I've had false angle sensor error codes a few years ago when I overheated the ATV and found the sequence for deleting the code online. Fast forward to today... I left the ignition turned on on my '06 Rancher ES and the battery died. After fully charging the battery the electric shift doesn't work and it gives the 3 blink code for bad angle sensor. I just can't believe that the sensor went bad over leaving the ignition turned on and draining the battery. The original battery died over time and when I replaced it there were no error codes.

So, I've searched and found a couple of scenarios for deleting the 3 blink error code for angle sensor but it's not the sequence that I partially remember and it doesn't clear the code.

Any input greatly appreciated.

Yea, sell it and buy a Honda. They never give any problems.

Oh wait, nevermind.

JK. I couldnt help it.

Those sensors are terrible about going out or acting up. My 05 was blinking finally stop shifting. I took it all apart and cleaned the angle sensor and the shift selonoid and havent had any problems since.

This morning I tinkered with the Rancher again. Still blinking "N" 3 times no matter what sequence I tried to delete it. So I decided to take the angle sensor off. I took the cover off and then decided to make sure it was in neutral. The sucker lit up the N with no flashing. Rode it around for a little while and it shifted perfectly. Must have been a bad connection in the connector and I guess I moved it just enough to fix it.
