do you get 27.5 grs Varget in a 223 case,,it`s listed everywhere and I can`t get but about 26.7 level ,,I mean runnin over level..

??????

Go through your once-fired cases and pick one of every head stamp. Fill each with water and weigh them. You might find one that has slightly more case capacity. If I were to guess, I'd say that Winchester cases might hold more. I've done it with other cases, but never .223.

,,will a drop tube add a whole grain in a 223 case??
Don't know if one will allow that much, but a long one with a careful s...l...o...w dump from the pan and a little taping on the case might do the trick.

I've never measured exactly the difference it makes but with one load in particular that I use a long slow pour into a funnel with a drop tube makes the difference in getting all the powder in the case or not. Try it, it's surprising how it works.
