I don't consider bucks to be cull bucks. He was shot by a friend last year with a bow, and his opposite side didn't grow. He will get to live until he dies of old age as far as I am concerned. I won't waste a tag on a deer like that.tree_ghost said:Looks to be about 110". Hard to say on the age but i don't think he's very old. Is that buck behind him a cull buck? I only see one side on him...
Considering that he and about 30 of his friends shared the same 40lb bag of corn so I could get some quick pictures, and he was only in 4 pics out of over 500, I am going to say it isn't too much corn that caused the big belly or stunted antler. The acres of clover and soybeans probably do that. As far as antler growth, I would say he is below average for a 3 year old in this area.Wes Parrish said:As so many have pointed out, it can be a very "wild guess" as to what's their age based on summer pics. And when guessing scores in velvet, most will over-estimate the score.
Based mainly on that significant belly sag (although for all I know, he's just been eating too much corn, which leads to more belly fat, and may be stunting his antler growth), I believe he's at least 3 1/2. Assuming he's 3 1/2, his antlers are near average. But he could be 4 1/2 or older, I just feel comfortable saying he's at least 3 1/2.
Would guess his gross score to be around 100-105.
