How much velosity did I loose?

I tried to get my Omega dialed in today loading a 250 gr Barnes Expander MZ over 150gr of 777 pellets. Groups were too big so I backed off to 100gr. of 777 which took care of the groups. I do not have a chronograph and was wondering if aynone had ran both of those charges through one to see what the difference in muzzel velosity actually is with a 250gr. projectile. I know accuracy beats velosity every time but I was just wondering.

very little if any. unless you have a very long barrel, you are blowing alot of that 150 gr. load out the muzzle before it burns.

According to barnes website, 150gr pellets gives average velocity of 2195fps, 100 gr pellets 1861, and 100 gr of loose 777 gives 1955. So you're not loosing that much. It's better to shoot a good group than get caught up with speed. That bullet in the boiler room is going to do some serious damage.
