Been really surprised lately by the people I talk to that just deer hunt.No tree rats, doves, coyotes,or fishing.NO FISHING??????

Seems strange to me,what if there were no deer,I guess they wouldnt get out side at all, crazy.

I honestly don't know anyone who just deer hunts...most hunt turkey or pheasant...and many of them fish, even through the ice! We call those guys that stay indoors all year and then go out two weekends for deer Weekend Warriors....and they are the most dangerous thing in the woods!

For the past 10 years, it's been deer 95% of the time. Throw in a few duck hunts, a pheasant hunt and a squirrel from time to time. Now that my oldest it 7, we've been squirrel, yote and deer hunting a few times together. Spring and summer we do a little fishing, but really, to get the whole family involved, it's camping and hiking.

Just deer hunt. Don't hunt anything else. I like to fish, but I rarely make the time to go.

About the same here. I'm thinking this is gonna change now that my young'un is getting old enough to get out with me tho. :) She keeps asking me if she can shoot the squirrels around the house with her bb gun.

Same here MUP. My daughter will be of age to youth deer hunt next year. We may take up squirrel hunting with a 22 to help with her shooting skills.

I don't know many either that just hunt deer. i know several who only fish, but not many who hunt only deer. they at least shoot doves and most hunt turkey or ducks too.

Man, it's amazing how well my daughter can shoot! She is so steady and just squeezes off her shots. I started her off with the bb gun of course, then graduated to the .22, then .30 cal, and now she has a .243. I've heard that women make better marks"persons" than men, and I'd be inclined to believe it after watching this girl (now 9 yrs old) shoot! I'm thinking it's time for some competition between her and her ol man! :)

I hunt everything I can

Same here. When traditional hunting seasons are over I make trips to my family's land in Louisiana and hunt hogs during the summer. I do need to start fishing a little more though.

I go turkey hunting once or twice in the spring. Golf takes up most of my free time in the spring. This year though, after deer season, i plan on squirrel hunting more this year. I got my grndpa's Marlin 39A back in the spring after he passed and that has got me really wanting to use it. I usually fish 3 or 4 times a year too.

I just hunt deer now as well, but it's just because of time issues. I have 4 young kids, so I'm only allowed one outdoor hobby at this time. Otherwise, I would be out all the time turkey hunting and fishing.

Growing up I hunted everything. I just began hunting again a few years ago and that was just deer. Then last year I finally got a turkey tag and "hunted" one of those. Which really meant I shot one while deer hunting as some turkeys walked by with my bow. I also hunted squirrels for the first time since I was a kid last fall and enjoyed it.I also used to fish alot, but haven't touched a pole in 10 years, but still have all the stuff in my closet.

So while mostly a deer hunters I am starting to expand again.

Well, just thought about it, I do turkey hunt once or twice a season, till the seed ticks drive me away that is.

There have been some years that I only hunted deer. It was more of a lack of time available problem than lack of desire issue.

Most years I also hunt dove, quail, turkey, squirrels and love to fish.

Coach you are sounding aliitle bit elitist with the weekend warrior post. Surprises me with all the elitist bow hunting post Ive been reading. What if I dont want to hunt all week, is pretty close to what if I dont want to bow hunt.

Haha...I guess it does sound like that Jar...but, my point in reality is that these guys I'm talking about don't site in their guns, drink all night and blast anything that moves in the woods. The old coach is the farthest thing from an elitist, I'd just like to be somewhat safe on public land

Deer and turkey. Doves and squirrels. Every once in a while I will go after some wood ducks in the early season. Bass, crappie, then rockfish.

mainly just deer hunt , but being trying to get into some other things . this year i plan on jumping right into shooting some coyote's after deer season . then turkeys in the spring , and some where between that i want to shoot a few tree rats with my muzzleloader and go crappie fishing with my budddy . oh and the swamp i deer hunt has been flooded all summer and theres a bunch of wood ducks in there . so i would like to give that a whirl too.my wifes going to love me lol
