How many pear trees would be too many for 100 acre farm? I have 2 producing reliably bought another one the other day, now i am contemplating on buying another. thats only 4. humm
 
I hear you! thats kindof where i am at.... I found some Kieffer pears about 9ft or better. 10 bucks.... pretty good deal....
 
In my mind anyway the above is my answer. But you could concievably have so much fruit that alot could go to waste, depending on your deer density and the drop times of your fruits. It would take alot of trees for that though.
 
I will keep planting soft mass for many years. Instead of doing all at once I will add what time permits per year. Also, keeping in mind that once they are planted the work is just beginning.

My pears all get ripe and fall way before deer season....
I want to hunt over them or near them and the ones i raise wouldnt permit me to do that at all.
 
I kinda feel like the more you have the better. The deer will always have fruit. Steven has a good point about them going to waste. But having too many is better than not having enough.

I cant imagine mine going to waste,I saw 50 + or- deer this afternoon on the way back to the interstate

I dont see that many deer in months of driving around where my property is. That would sure be nice!
 
just pm me any time and come on and hunt with me when you get back,no problem,I expect to see 50 the first 2 weekends of bow on my place,course you never know,but I did last year
