HOW LONG?

does it usually take for your clover to get a few inches high? like a yard? Just wanting to compare yalls clover to mine. been in the ground for a week and is about 1/2 inch tall.

It all depends...Biggest factors are: weather (rain and sun) and fertilization.

Just to give you an example: We planted ours 2 weeks ago and it is around 3 inches now. It hasnt had hardly any sun. When it does, it will take off.

Clover takes awhile to really get going. I usually sow it apart from my grains because they outrun it so fast. 1/2 inch after a week sounds about right. If conditions are right, you should have a good stand in 3 weeks and it should begin to top out in a month.

If you haven't already, put some 6-12-12 or 9-23-30 fertilizer on it. You might need some lime too. That will speed up the process and give you a healthier stand.

thanks guys. yes i put some triple 10 on it at planting. and i put about 350 lbs of lime on it 2 months ago.

another concern i have tho is with all these really hard down pours we have been getting it has smashed most of the brittle little plants into the ground and some of the plants arent in the ground.

my question is will these plants pop back up okay and are the little plants laying on top able to take root?

It's fine.

Yea I mean you can drive over it (although I dont like to and try not to), but some places I have to, but it will come back up, as long as its not too often. That stuff is pretty tolerant, more than you would think.

I have read that clover needs 6 weeks for full establishment.
