How long to get mount back?

My taxidermist has had my mount since December 14 and it's still 4 from being on the work table. He is a single man operation, but how long does it normally take yall to get your mounts back? He did a fish for me two years ago and it only took 3 month.

I had one that took 2 yrs but he told me up front it would take longer. He does a great job, had a long wait list, and just took his time with the work.

He first thought August, but now it's September, but the good news is he does amazing work and the trout I had mounted was a great job, one of the best I have seen. Done table top with drift wood and river stones to mimic swimming on river bottom

I would guess 12-18 months is average in my area for a quality mount.

If it takes longer than a year, you might be in trouble since the new season's trophies are coming in. Many taxidermists are true artists and not very good businessmen so they have trouble saying no to new customers and new business coming through the door, especially when they do good work. Its reasonable to take a year but if its much longer, I would reconsider next time or you will be spending all your time harassing him to get your stuff. Good luck.

Thanks all, at least I know it is great work, just get impatient looking at everyone else's mount pics. Hopefully I will get it back and have another drop off not long after.

For a really good one, up to a year. Think about it this way: How long did it take you to kill him?

Killed mine December 23rd. Dropped him off December 30th and just picked him up July 30th. I'm very pleased with the work.

Killed mine on Oct.27, dropped off at taxidermist around Nov 1st. Got it back around Dec 15th, so around 45 days. I beat the gun season so it was easier for her to get right on it. Connie Calloway (Knoxville). She does excellent work.

Dropped mine off October 2nd or 3rd of last year. I was supposedly number one on the list to be done, still waiting....
