Ok so a buck came in right before dark. Buck fever got the better of me and I shot ANOTHER tree. he jumped back a ways and then came back cautiously. I concentrated on the shot and heard that good thump sound of arrow hitting deer. He ran a short ways, stopped a few seconds and ran again. I have not gone to track but have found the arrow covered in blood and a small amount of light red blood near the arrow. Arrow smells strong like deer and I can't tell if its gut shot or just cause he stank from the rut. Not much blood near arrow and I'm gonna wait. How long should I sit here? I shot him at 5pm

I am no expert on this, but I would not think your arrow would stink from him being rutted up, as it passed through him.

i was too scared!! But epic year is understatement! Y'all know any first year bowhunters that kill two mature bucks and three does or four or however many? Good job man!

Yea he has had a sensational year!
I asked killer "how may he was gonna shoot this year"
Cat says "good question" lol
Congrats again, cat

Thanks all. Been lucky this year

Liver shot. Glad he went down as quick as he did. I need to check my bow or arrows, I think the arrows haven't been flying well. It could have been my fault but I think I've noticed practice shots also fly funny and the arrow goes in on an angle. Maybe the spine is wrong. But it was almost a 25 yard shot which stretches my comfortable range and it still killed him. And after I shot a tree in front of him on the first try. I am lucky

Cat your going to be tagged out and fishing soon if you don't quit shooting those sad daddys :D Congrats
