Ive never had a climbing stand and may just buy one.What is the appropriate height to go up?Ive always wished I was much higher.Or better question how high do you go?

I make my pull ropes my self and have them measured out to 28 ft. That way if I need to go to 30 ft to get the shooting lanes I want I can. But generally I stay right around 25 ft. Terrain plays a major factor also. If I suspect the deer to come on the high side of my stand in a holler then I'll climb higher to get out of their sight line. If I take my climber in the woods though. I climb at least 15 ft.

Go as high as you need to. I generally climb 16-25 feet but will go up to 40 at times. True, you have a sharper entry and exit angle but 2 things to remember...
1) many times the higher you go you may be cutting out the capability of the deer winding you and
2) with a climber the tree is cleared of all limbs, vegetation, and otherwise cover vegetation. You're generally wide open. The higher you are cuts the angle of the deer's plane of sight, especially at close range.
If you go with a climber (or any time you get off the ground) get a good safety harness as well AND WEAR IT!

15-18' during bow mainly bc vegetation limits me. If ya get above the canopy it's a pain but during gun I've been know to go 40 ft but I'm not planning on a real close shot if I'm that high

there is not a height for all situations. Depends on many things. I hunt from the ground all the way to 44 feet or so to the treestand. Highest I ever hung a stand was 56'. Some places I hunt 10' or so because if I go higher I can't see more than a very short distance, some places I cannot seem to get high enough. Archery, generally try not to get super high, does not help shot angle.

I would think that whatever you are comfortable with for starters. Last year i was at 10 feet and thought i was high enough. This year i am getting around 20 foot and feel like i need to be higher in certain terrains. Climb at you discretion and wear your harness please. Take it hunt by hunt and before you know it you will be looking for the way to hide in trees like on the ground.

15-35 usually around 25. ive been crazy high before I don't know how high but I felt like I needed to be that high on how it set up. there is no set answer our ladder stand are 10-18 most being 12-15. and we kill 99 percent of our deer out of those. so being comfortable is the main thing. don't scare yourself and please put a harness on. get comftable with the stand and know how to set it up and how to climb and do all of that quietly is the main thing with a climber.

When all the leaves are on the trees. You figure out that if you get over 20 ft. You can't see much. During rifle I will climb until I run out of tree.
