How high do y'all hunt in a tree?

I try to get at least 20ft up.
Some spots 20 ft is too high as I loose visability. Some of my stand sites the sky is the limit and I've been known to go 40ft +.
A good rule of thumb for me is to get head high with the crown of the tree.
 
Try to get to 20+ if at all possible. If there bunch of under growth I'll climb a little less.
 
15 feet is plenty, how high you climb aint the issue. You have to be still, 98% of the time you are busted by a deer is from movement. And the higher you climb the more critical the angle of your shot

I shoot for 25 if the tree permits... Sometimes I'll hunt really thick stuff and you can't go that high without losing shooting lanes...

Yep, and the higher you climb the more you can get away with movement. 15ft may work in some cases, but certainly not all. There are several factors to consider.

I hunt as low as 15 ft and as high as 30ft depending on the location and time of year.
 
I hunt wherever I have the most shootin lanes. Sometimes its 16-18' but sometimes during rifle season I can get over 40' I generally climb higher when I'm just below the top of a ridge, that way I can still see below but high enough where I'm not eye level with the top. If I'm in open woods like in a big bowl I will climb higher but if I'm in a thicket where my longest shot will be 20 yards then I will be between 20-30'
 
The only possible correct answer would be as high as it takes. What works at 15 feet in one location might be 35 feet in another. I probably average 20 feet but I carry extra rope in case I end up at 35 or 40 feet.
 
High is good, until I learned that it is very difficult on close shots with bow.
17-20' with a bow normally. Rifle I get as high as I can or need to.

Depends on visibility, terrain slope, and weapon...bow no higher than 25, usually 15-20. Rifle a little higher, but more often don't use a treestand with a rifle. I did climb 50 ft one time no exaggeration

I have one at 35' and one around 15'. Got busted this morning sittin in the short one before I even got my head turned around, so if I had more climbing sticks it would be at 30' by the end of the week.
