would love to hear..What is your set up etc..where do you like to get...any input would be greatly appreciated...
 
i usually get wet...

jk.. lol in all seriousness i bow hunt majority of the time so I try to avoid the rain. When I used to gun hunt more regular I had some really good hunts on some of those light drizzle mornings.
 
Good rain suit and scope covers and binos covers in the morning i go to good bottoms or close to bedding areas because of the rain you can sneak around and control your scent better. Evening it depends but usually try to find over grown fields or in the woods where i can see fields. I see good deer all the time on rainy days i love them. Hunt them every chance i get.
 
I've got a carry lite tree umbrella that I use.Works pretty good.Im gonna take it with me this evening,and put it up in the ladder stand im gonna hunt,and then go back in the morning when they are calling for rain...
 
I like those camo umbrellas that you screw in the tree. They are also good for shade when it is not raining.

With rifle, I hunt from a covered ground blind and I usually hunt fields...it's a waiting game but I've killed some great bucks doing it. I've also killed a few still hunting but many many more hunting a big field in the rain from the comfort of a ground blind
 
Find you a big Ole Cedar tree near the fields edge ..If you prefer field hunting. And snuggle up to that trunk ,you will be surprised how little rain hits you.
I have a little umbrella thing that attaches to a tree ,as long as the wind stays down it works well ..even in the stand.

What Rivers West rain gear do you have? I see they offer several different jackets and pants. I've read that it's great stuff, but I've also read that you'll sweat to death in it if you're on the move a lot. It is best for using while sitting still on stand?

I honestly dont know how to answer ur question....

I have never picked out a setup and thought well if its raining it will mess this place up or.. this is a rain only setup.. dont really see how it should be any different than hunting dry weather other than it sucks.
 
I am still learning my new area here in TN. However Back home I would go to the Pines when it rained. The thick pines would shield me from the weather and the deer would move in there as well during bad weather.

Nothing like a Cedar tree to hucker down under with a lite rain and a screw in umbrella for the heavier rains.
 
I use a ground chair blind when it rains. I try to brush it in really well. As far as where i put it, i try to quickly recon the area and figure out the deer are least likely to get spooked and put it there.
